Automatic Pest Infestation Detection on Crops
APIDoC
Agriculture sector is vital to feed the increasing world population but yearly it gets adversely affected by natural disasters. One of the main causes of crop destruction is pest infection. In this project we investigate the effectiveness of thermal image detection of pests in crops using a flying robot. A flying robot flies over the whole crop and captures data using a thermal camera. The methodology is based on computer vision algorithms. Automatic Pest Density Estimation will reduce the need for over-use of pesticides and increase productivity of crops, additionally lowering the cost of farming for poor farmers.
