Description *
To protect journalists and human rights defenders (HDRs), a data analysis and prediction tool was developed to automatically collect and analyze vast numbers of data sources regarding violence against journalists and HDRs. This tool presents a summary statistics and predictive analysis of said violence in an interactive map. This tool has reduced the Ministry of the Interior’s labor costs, and has improved the design of public policies intending to protect journalists and HDRs. This project is part of the 'GobLab' initiative of the Office of the President, aimed at using technology and data to develop and evaluate evidence based policies.
