Environmental Contribution in Colombia from Computers to Educate (Computadores para Educar)
In Colombia, the guided use of ICTs in educational processes is managed by Computers to Educate (Computadores para Educar), a comprehensive, articulated, sustainable and efficient government program that, with its three strategic lines: i) Access to ICTs, ii) Pedagogical Ownership and iii) Environment Sustainability in public educational institutions; contributes to the consolidation of education and to the mitigation of environmental impacts produced by obsolete technology. With adequate management and final disposal of technological waste products, Computers to Educate contributes to the protection of the environment. Likewise, it drives productive processes that leverage clean energies derived from environmental sustainability work.
