Information about the project
Nothi: Less Paper Office
In government offices of Bangladesh paper-based file management and its archiving follow an outdated method and is stigmatized with lack of transparency and accountability, slothfulness and inadequate communication channel for citizens. a2i, serving from the Prime Minister’s Office and supported by the Cabinet Division – the apex tier in bureaucracy –has developed a robust e-File System, named as Nothi (www.nothi.gov.bd), that has provided for quick decision making and service delivery. Since the roll-out of the system – now covering 5000+ offices from sub-district level to ministry – transparency and citizens’ convenience in offices that implemented the system have moved up conspicuously.
National implementation: Bangladesh
Ongoing from 05/05/2015 to 31/12/2018
