Information about the project
Electronic Nose for Lung Cancer detection
Lung cancer is one of the malignancies causing deaths worldwide. In 2012, it resulted in 1.59 million deaths. This makes it the most common cause of cancer-related death. There are a lot of non-invasive diagnostic techniques that are used for cancer detection, but the problem with the currently available diagnostic techniques are that they are expensive, and not fit for general screening purposes. In many cancer conditions early identification rises the chances of successfully treatment. Electronic Nose that is specified for detecting and analyzing breath samples maybe the best solution to identify wither there's cancer or not as a first stage diagnostic technique. *An electronic nose (e-nose) is a device that identifies the specific components of an odor and analyzes its chemical makeup to identify it.
